Contest Rules

Entry Requirements

  • Must have a Web3 wallet connected
  • Must have sufficient ETH for entry fee and gas
  • Can only enter each contest once per wallet
  • Must enter before contest closes

Prediction Rules

  • Select exact number of balls as contest type (5, 10, 15, or 20)
  • Ball numbers must be between 1 and 120
  • Predictions must be submitted before match starts
  • Cannot modify predictions after submission

Contest Timing

  • Contests open 24-48 hours before match
  • Entry and predictions close when match starts
  • Points calculated after match ends
  • Rewards available immediately after distribution

Scoring & Ranking

  • Points awarded only for correct predictions
  • Point values vary by phase (see points system)
  • Players ranked by total points
  • Tie-breaker: earlier submission time wins

What Counts as a Dot Ball?

Valid Dot Balls

  • 0 runs scored: Ball bowled, no runs taken by batsman
  • Legal delivery: Not a no-ball or wide
  • Defense or miss: Batsman defends or misses the ball
  • Wicket ball: Counts as dot if no runs scored before wicket

NOT Dot Balls

  • Runs scored: Any runs taken (1, 2, 3, 4, 6)
  • No-balls: Illegal delivery (runs scored or not)
  • Wides: Ball goes out of reach of batsman
  • Byes/Leg-byes: Runs taken without bat contact

Fair Play Policy

Prohibited Actions

  • Multiple accounts to enter same contest
  • Bot usage or automated prediction scripts
  • Collusion with other players
  • Exploiting bugs or vulnerabilities
  • Manipulation of smart contracts

Consequences

  • Account suspension or permanent ban
  • Forfeiture of entry fees and winnings
  • Wallet address blacklisting
  • Legal action for fraud or abuse
  • Report to relevant authorities if necessary

Match Cancellation & Disputes

If a Match is Cancelled

  • All entry fees are refunded to participants' wallets
  • Refunds processed automatically via smart contract
  • No platform fees deducted from refunds

If a Match is Shortened (Rain/DLS)

  • Contest continues if minimum 10 overs bowled per innings
  • Points calculated based on actual balls bowled
  • If less than 10 overs, full refund issued

Dispute Resolution

  • All match data verified from official cricket boards
  • Disputes handled via support@demo.dotball.bet
  • Admin decision is final in case of disputes
